What's a flow chart? The usual answer we'll get is: 'a graphic representation, using symbols interconnected with lines, of the successive steps in a procedure or system.' Well, to me, flow chart is more than that. I'll explain through answering the following question.
'Why do you need flowchart in your Mobile Interface Design & Screen Interface Design and how will it help your users to meet the interactive goals?'
Good question. Obviously, doing a project is long and complicated process. So, a flow chart gives you an advantage of getting you to understand and follow the process of your project by just looking at the flow chart. Basically, a flow chart communicates on how your project process work and documents on how it is done in a effective way. Therefore, flow chart simplifies and clarify the process during the project. It help you greatly to understand the process and boost your ability to brainstorm ideas for the project.
Furthermore, a flow chart is useful in defining and analyzing a process during a project. It is important to ensure that you are able to define and analyze the process. Every process in a project is important. By defining a process, you are able to know what are you aiming for in the project, what is your goal, your objective. By analyzing a process, you'll get to find out you weaknesses and errors in your project. By finding out the weaknesses and errors, you are able to improve and correct them easily.
In addition, a flow chart may also be used to gather information and data about a process as an aid to decision making or evaluation on the particular project itself. For example, unnecessary addition or deduction to the project can be avoided if one uses a flow chart of the process to identify and eliminate unnecessary steps.
Last but not least, a flow chart enables you to focus and concentrate more on each individual step. Usually, the bigger picture of a project will make you overwhelm and defocus on your current task. Having a flow chart keeps you stay on track.
In conclusion, a flow chart is indeed a useful tool; it is a strong ally, a friend by assisting you in your project, ensuring a good result for your project.
